Wahoo! I get to be first. I liked this book partly because I have always like the Old Testament story of Jacob and Esau and this book follows it fairly closely. I thought it took too long for Jamie to finally get to his cousins but after that it went fairly quickly. I felt so sorry for Leana. I could never be the kind of person she was. Her character actually made me a little angry at times because I wanted her to stand up for herself a little more and to be a more forceful type of person. I thought this was an enjoyable book.
I also enjoyed the book. I agree with Lori about taking so long for Jamie to get to his cousins. The plot sped up for me about half way through the book. It was interesting to read the "dramatization" of the Bible story. I guess it has to do with the "times" but it bothered me how Jamie was so willing to get involved with the deceiving ways of his mom and his cousin's father. And how so much of it all involved money and inheritance. Something we don't really have to worry about so much today.
